Why live just outside Burnet

Living a few miles out of town is how most people in the Highland Lakes do it. You trade a short drive for errands for more space, less traffic noise and the lake close by. At Seven Lakes that means:

  • Large sites: roughly 35 feet wide by 80 to 90 feet long, the largest in the area, with room for your rig, your truck and a second vehicle
  • Big rigs and tiny homes: rigs up to 42 feet, dedicated fifth wheel spaces, and sites big enough for a tiny home
  • Full hookups: 30 and 50 amp electric, water and sewer at every site
  • Gated and fenced: controlled entry, plus a criminal background check for every resident staying over 30 days
  • Pets welcome at every site, with a fenced dog park
  • High Speed Internet Available at every site
  • On-site laundry and mature live oaks for shade

Burnet, close enough for errands and weekends

Burnet is the Burnet County seat and the official Bluebonnet Capital of Texas. Residents head into town for groceries, doctors and the hardware store, and stay for the small-town calendar:

  • Courthouse Square: the Burnet Farmers Market runs Saturday mornings from May through November, and the Bluebonnet Festival fills the square every April
  • Hill Country Flyer: the vintage train from Cedar Park makes a two-hour layover in Burnet on Saturdays in spring and fall (schedule)
  • Highland Lakes Squadron museum: World War II aircraft at the Burnet Municipal Airport, open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons (hours)
  • Fort Croghan: an 1849 frontier fort and museum on Highway 29, free to visit in season
  • Longhorn Cavern and Inks Lake state parks: cave tours, hiking, swimming and fishing piers, both between the park and town
