Lake Marble Falls
Lake Marble Falls is a reservoir on the Colorado River in the Texas Hill Country in the United States. The reservoir was formed in 1951 by the construction of Max Starcke Dam by the Lower Colorado River Authority. Originally named Marble Falls Dam, the dam was renamed in 1962 for Max Starcke, the second general director of the LCRA. Located near the city of Marble Falls, the lake is used as a venue for aquatic recreation and for the purpose of generating hydroelectric power. It is the newest and smallest of the Texas Highland Lakes.

National wildlife refuges offer us all a chance to unplug from the stresses of daily life and reconnect with our natural surroundings. Visiting Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge is a great way to do just that: unplug. Go for a hike and look for signs of wildlife. Smell the flowers along the trail. Bring your binoculars and look for birds overhead. Use your smart phone or camera to capture the beauty of the wild. Spend some time reading or journaling at one of our observation decks. The Falls on the Colorado Museum
Located in the quaint community of Marble Falls, The Falls on the Colorado Museum is described by visitors as a marvelous little gem which would make town founder Adam Rankin Johnson proud. Currently the museum is housed in what was once a university building that Johnson helped found in 1891. The nearly 6,000 square feet museum proudly displays artifacts from prehistoric era to modern relevant events of today.
