Due to predominant species of fish in Buchanan Lake include largemouth, striped, and white bass, and channel catfish, flathead catfish, and blue catfish. Other species include black crappie, white crappie, bluegill, Guadalupe and hybrid striped bass, redbreast sunfish, and longnose and spotted gar, Buchanan Lake is also known as Fisherman’s Lake.
